What We Call The News

Sometimes humor has to stretch the truth to be funny, the sad part is that on this topic they don’t. It’s been said that we get the government we deserve. Do we also get the journalism we deserve?

  1. Ohh… that all depends on how you define “deserve”. The junk news gets the ratings, after all, and plenty of people seem happy with that.

  2. I agree with you to an extent, Stephanie, but I’m sure we could say the same for fast food–still doesn’t mean it’s good for us… At some point the whole culture pays a price for not eating its vegetables, as it were.

    PBS’s Frontline has a great series on these issues, and how the blogosphere is affecting news, called News War. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
