Now available to all AdWords customers, the product will go head to head with enterprise software platforms, most of which are beyond the budgetary reach of mid-sized businesses.

Over at TechCrunch, Marshall Kilpatrick shares some specific examples of testing in action [6]:

At Search Engine Watch, Danny Sullivan questions whether or not this sort of testing amounts to “cloaking.” Cloaking is a bit overstated, in our opinion. But Sullivan explains the difference [7] between testing to improve the experience and “cloaking” (which is basically a dirty SEO tactic).

So what if they use gibberish text or put out some highly-optimized textual content? As long as they show the visitor a relevant page, what’s the harm? Indeed, if you buy into the argument that what you do on the page largely doesn’t matter — that it’s really down to domain authority and links — then it becomes even harder to understand why cloaking is such an issue.

On the Traffik blog, Andrew Goodman explains why it’s a win-win [8] for everyone:
