Do Your Customers Feel Stalked?

While the Internet is “public” space, your personal interaction with it is private. Or at least if feels private. It’s your computer, it’s your email inbox, it’s your time and attention, and, more importantly, you’re in control of what you see and do.

That’s why things you can’t control are accentuated on the Internet. You can watch a TV show and be interrupted by annoying commercials. But TV is the land of interruptive marketing. The consumer is NOT in control.

But on the Internet, the consumer IS in control. And they don’t like it when you try to invade their space. Just look at Pop-Ups, one of the most despised methods of Internet advertising. [1]
