SEO, Google Blog Search & Feedburner Data

By Bryan Eisenberg
June 5th, 2007

I recently wrote about Google’s Blog Search patent application on how to rank results by relevancy. If Google can use Google Reader and Gmail data to rank blog posts, don’t you think they’ll add Feedburner data? And if that data impacts rankings, how will search engine optimization for blogs be affected.

Will SEO’s be advising their blogging clients to subscribe or unsubscribe from Feedburner services? What will you do?

  1. if it were to affect rankings, i would DEFINITELY advise clients to use feedburner for that reason alone

otherwise, i advise it anyway because feedburner rocks in my opinion :)

  2. That’s a great question Bryan and it’s one I’ve posed to a Feedburner, er I mean Googleburner exec in an upcoming interview. We’ll see if Google PR lets him answer. :)

  3. Very good point, if it was to make any impact on ranking the the advice has to be subscribe!
