Although he gets into how bloggers can leverage reviews with affiliate programs and the like, copywriters should consider doing this type of exercise even if it just means reviewing a new book on Amazon or your favorite movie on iTunes. Reviews are like mental push-ups for a copywriter. There you are, writing as passionately or dispassionately as you wish about something you know and care about enough to bother in the first place — and suddenly… it’s easier to find the positive and negative nuances of the subject.
Now, take that confidence and transfer it to the products and services you’re marketing, and bam… you’ll be able to communicate its virtues with the world. When you approach online copy with a critical lens, you’re better able to empathize with the reader’s natural skepticism.
