Perhaps even more tenuous than campaign contributions, but at least another way to skin the cat... Which illustrates why these sorts of metrics can be deceiving: a) they blur the lines between approval, disapproval and indifference. b) they are based on a very small, self-selected sample c) they can be easily manipulated by "zealots" who overrun the process and skew the results... ...sort of like (as at least SOME would say) a little thing we call "elections"...
