In the coming years i would say its going to be hard to beat ebay, anyone can setup a shop within minutes. Amazon isnt a patch on it in my eyes.

I would rank eBay above Amazon mainly due to the fact that I use it ten-times as much.

I fell in love with Walmart.com when I moved into our new home three months ago. While I found quality, low-priced items in the store, there are many, many more items online, and I learned that they are generally of an even higher quality. I used product reviews in making decisions, and I got some of the coolest items for the house at Wal-Mart, never disappointed. Their prices are usually lower than other retailers, plus I used site-to-store to get free delivery. I was a Target person until we moved – get a nice Wal-Mart nearby and it’s all you need.

That looks like a pretty good list of retailers. I have shopped at three of the online stores in the list in the last two months. There are quite a few retail stores on the list that I shop at but only their retail locations. I suppose it might be worth checking out the online versions of the stores since they might have a better selection.

Wait, am I missing something? These retailers spend millions in advertising on a variety of media to drive traffic to their actual stores (more of the list are stores) and build their brand. Then they spend a lot more with online advertising. So, my company had millions to spend on advertising, would that mean my company would be on the list. So, my question is, is there a list for top small retailers whose ad budgets might be only $10,000 a year or $100,000 a year on all media – how to they rank and how are they doing. I really like subscribing to GrokDotCom newsletters and appreciate all the articles to help companies with online strategies – however – this list I do not think relates to the majority of small e-commerce sites. Do you have any stats or links to compare? All input would be appreciated.

Ebay.com tends to be my favorite followed by any other site I can find the best deal on what I need. When you are a single Mom with a bunch of kids, you gotta save anyway you can. Google’s not a retailer is it? I must have missed something along the way if it is.

Amazon.com and Target.com are weaknesses for me. They both offer wonderful selection and there’s always an opportunity for free shipping. Amazon’s greatest feature for me is the wide variety of available items. While Target also offers a lot of items, I especially appreciate the online-only exclusives that the website has, especially those from the designer collaborations that Target has come up with in the past few years.

When I’m shopping on the Internet, I usually go to google shopping first and then sort by price. I find that it often ends up taking me to amazon.com, but sometimes not!

I’m a web designer and based in the UK. Amazon.co.uk are not bad. I have, however, found them a bit pricey, especially for delivery on reseller items.

I must give a mention to http://www.ebuyer.co.uk They’re great for technological stuff, and are generally very compettive on price and give great service.

My favorite retailer is definetly Amazon.com as well. The check out process is quick and easy, Amazon prime is amazing, they sell just about everything, you can read customer reviews for just about everything, and the return process is simple.

I have no idea why Google would be on that list. It says their main product is information, but all their information is free. Paypal isn’t on the list so it can’t be because of Google Checkout. Very strange.

I enjoy Amazon actually as the prices are unbeatable and I have never quite had a problem with them. I also enjoy various clothing stores that do offer the free shipping. Now I’m realizing the abundant coupon codes available for just about any online retailer which is helpful and necessary these days!

Amazon is LAST on my list. I find them hard to navigate and not at all customer friendly.

When I’m shopping online, I actually ask girl friends where to buy things I want. Some of them mention Amazon, but they know how I feel, so… more and more I’m using boutique shops. As a matter of fact, I’m following a good number of small biz owners on Twitter who have great stuff.

I think I’ll buy from them. The Top 50 don’t need me. I’m gone!
