[1]Our friends over at FormArmor have asked us to take their survey on ‘The Hidden Cost of Web Form Abuse.’

Web Form Abuse is an important topic due to the following:

  1. Form abuse continues to plague site operators and marketers, big and small
  2. Anti-spam measures, like CAPTCHAs, don’t seem to work very well [2]
  3. CAPTCHAs don’t remotely follow web accessibility guidelines [3]
  4. CAPTCHAs are insulting to your human site visitors, are sometimes really hard to “solve,” [4] and very likely are hurting your conversion rates!

So go ahead and take the survey [5]: you’ll get a copy of the findings, and be entered to win a copy of Luke Wroblewski’s latest (awesome) book, Web Form Design: Filling in the Blanks. Maybe your survey data can help make 2009 a less annoying year for your visitors :)
